On The Go and Daily Grind Meditations and Rituals
5-10 minute bath soak: let your body soak in the water and feel the dirt being cleansed off your body. Concentrate on all the negative energy from the day being soaked off your body or any emotion that was bothering you throughout your day.
Great additions include bath salts, crystals, dimmed lights, soothing music, candles, and essential oils.
Car karaoke: singing unfiltered can be freeing and is a great way to elevate your mood no matter the time of the day. It also helps to open your throat chakra by communicating your emotions vocally and by letting go of the boundaries placed on vocal self expression.
Mood booster playlist: create a playlist and whenever moments in your life start to feel dull and you can no longer enjoy the smaller things in life play your trusty mood booster playlist. Filled with songs that elevate your mood, calm you down, and make you feel free.
Grounding Ritual: stand on the ground and as you feel the grass touch your feet. Allow yourself to slow down and feel balance within your body. This meditation is a great reminder that we are one in a billon and that it's ok to slow down once in a while when you need to reset or ground yourself. Let the roots of the earth anchor you down into safety and peace.
Sun charging ritual: stand in the sun and soak in the heat. Imagine energy currents transferring from the sun to your body charging up your body and mind with positivity, fuel, and the grace needed to start the day.
Moon charging ritual: in the moonlight, similar to the sun exercise visualize the energy flowing into your body. However, if you don't work night shift I would recommend imagining this energy transfer as restorative, calming, or similar to a dandelion wish releasing.
Protective bubble ritual: this one is extremely simple just close your eyes no matter where you are and imagine you are surrounded in a protective bubble. Personalize your bubble to whatever colors or images make you feel safe. Affirmations can also assist in this visualization by saying phrases such as I am safe and protected, As you surround me blank emotion can not get to me, etc.
Journaling: whether you are at home or having a slow day a work releasing your thoughts onto anything external like paper or a computer can be a great way to free yourself of draining emotions and discover more about yourself. And, if you have any emotions that your particularly want to address, past trauma, addictions, etc. google and Pinterest will always have you covered.
Organization and Cleaning: organizing your life either through planning or physically cleaning is a great way to ease your mind for tomorrow and also an opportunity to turn the devices off and listen to your thoughts as you complete your day to day chores. You may just learn something about yourself. Decorating your space is also a great option. This not only makes you feel more at home in your environment but is a great way to self express and remind yourself of your own energy.
Starfish: star fishing in the water in complete silence is a freeing feeling. It allows you to feel as if you are on vacation which helps to add a little sunshine to your day. Just spread your arms and legs apart and let the water drift you into freedom. Allow yourself to embrace the feelings of freedom and let go of control. This exercise is a great reminder that we are only human. We embody energy but a lot of things are out of our control and sometimes we just need to let go and release all that is harmful to us.
Slow the fuck down: take time to enjoy the senses when you can. It is a great meditative process to help you rediscover the joy in the small things. Start to take notice to things you haven't before, and she how it impacts your day. Don't rush through your skincare routine or nightly bath, instead take the time to really feel it.
Dancing or exercise: intuitively moving your body helps to work your sacral chakra and allows you to become more Intune with your body. Feel your movements and remind yourself that your only human. Humble yourself and feel the power of just moving and being.
Nature walks: enjoying nature, breathtaking scenery, or in your neighborhood while taking daily walks is a restorative, peaceful, and energizing experience. Let your mind be free and enjoy the experience of being as you connect with your environment.
Meditation Beats: Using sound therapy to connect with chakras or promote different emotions (happiness, calmness, etc.) is also an easy practice. Most sounds are readily available on YouTube.
Chakra Meditations

Meditations for the Root Chakra

Root Chakra:
The root is the foundation and projects grounding and balancing energy. Providing a sense of stability and security. Making sure your basic physical needs are always met is the best way overall to help activate your root chakra. Identity and survival are also major aspects of this chakra. The base of the spine is this chakra's central location; maintaining the body's stability and security.
More Meditations and Rituals:
Activating the senses is a great way to access your root chakra such as walking barefoot in grass, listening to good music, taking yourself to eat delicious food, and indulging in favorite scents. This practice can be heightened if you activate your senses that make you feel immense comfort that projects feelings of security, peace, and stability.
Decluttering your space is also a great way to feel balanced in your life and free you of any unwanted chaos in your home. With this being said after your home feels comfortable and safe a night in with yourself in an environment nurtured to you is also a great way to activate this chakra. Spending more nature is also a given for activating the root chakra because the earth is restorative and helps ground you to reality.
Take deep breathes in and imagine that air moving all the way down to your feet.
Another great meditation exercise would be to imagine roots growing from the earth radiating red energy or you could always garden and watch your plants grow from the roots up in real time.
Taking time to notice your own growth from your roots to who you are now rather that be by reminiscing on the past, journaling, or visiting old loved ones who made you feel secure and safe.
Affirmations while you close your eyes and imagine your safely secure in a red light bubble of your imaginations creation such as I am safe, I am secure, I am grounded, and I have found immense peace with my life. Other affirmations include I will never let anyone threaten my secure and stability, I will not let other people impact by wellbeing, security, and stability, and my energy remains grounded despite outside influences. To amplify this affect you can grab something meaningful to you that is red or a red crystal like garnet, ruby, or red aventurine.
Don't forget to slow down and enjoy the world around you this is also a way to activate your root chakra.
Also since your spine is the location of the root chakra a good back message with essential oils and candles is a great physical activity for this chakra to remain activated.
Journaling about ways or situations that made you feel unsafe. Especially if you had trauma related to your basic needs not being met or family trauma. You can also note the different ways you feel balanced and secure in your life as a gratitude journaling exercise.
Other good journaling exercises include noting ways you don't and do feel grounded, writing 50 of your traits that are part of your identity down, and writing ways you don't feel at home with yourself.

Creating art in general rather it be jewelry, painting, clay art, ceramics, sketching, or whatever you heart desires is a great form of self expression of your emotions. Finding your group of people and surrounding yourself with people who love you for you and have similar lifestyles as you can be a great way to gain power within community rather than having your friend group being people who drag you down, threaten your sense of safety/security, and have no respect for you. Having people around you can help you to have more positive outlooks towards the way you view yourself and life making you feel powerful in your life. Author's Notes:
Meditation is about self discovery, peace, and reflection. This article mainly focuses on internal healing and connection. How you meditate is entirely up to you and customizable based on your own personal intentions. Meditation is not just sitting quietly in a corner closing your eyes and trying not to think. It is human nature to question things, have thoughts, or general opinions that may have not been originated by us. That's life and the most meditative experience of all is allowing yourself to slow down and experience not just life but your connections, your senses, nature, and your own wants and desires. May you eventually find the love, peace, and self discovery that we all deserve. For any additional meditation practices look into more affirmations and journaling prompts. Their are plenty of free resources to assist you in your healing journey. Yoga poses for each chakra are also easy to find.
